Juveniles should not push or punch
other juveniles in school, and may not shoot pellets at passing vehicles, in
Port Allegany. Dog owners need to keep their dogs home, or at least not running
at large. Enforcing those rules was part of what Port Allegany Police had to
do, among other duties and regular patrols, in the week that began Monday, December
9 and ended Sunday, December 15. Also, Officer Tony Tanner returned to police
duty, having returned from his military deployment.

conduct.

received a call reporting that a man holding a burlap bag was standing in
Portage Road near Mantz Farm, acting peculiar and not moving out of the way
when a vehicle approached. Distrola could not locate the unidentified man, but
notified Pennsylvania State Police of the matter.
Last Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Chief
Distrola was dispatched to the back parking lot of the junior-senior high
school for a report of possible criminal mischief. Someone had shattered the
rear window of a school staff member while it was parked there. The incident is
under investigation.
At 10:24 p.m. Officer Tony Tanner
responded to an alarm at Rite Aid. It turned out that cleaning staff had
triggered the alarm by accident.
Friday at one minute after noon, Officer Kyle Day went to Church
Street at Mill Street to check on a report of a hit-and-run. Information he
provided indicates that Connie Lathrop had backed into a car driven by Tiffany
Vossler of Smethport and had left the scene. Investigation continues; a
citation is pending.

running at large on North Main Street and Chestnut Street. He identified the
owner and advised that person to leash the dogs.
At 5:15 p.m. Officer Colin Strawcutter

Wild III had slid out of a driveway into a vehicle driven by Debra Archer of
East Mill Street. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were said to be
drivable. Strawcutter was unable to locate Wild, but obtained the information
from ambulance personnel who had responded to the crash. He provided the
information to Archer.
Sunday at 12:30
p.m. Officer William Wenzel received a
complaint that juveniles with air guns were shooting pellets at cars on Church
