Police Report 11/25 - 12/01

At least one motorist seemed incapable of staying on the road, Friday night or early Saturday morning, damaging a mailbox, a fence and several lawns. Somebody stole some welding gear from the Career and Technical Center, and a patient was transported after an apparent suicide attempt.

Those were among matters Port Allegany Police dealt with in the week that began Monday, November 25 and ended Sunday, December 1.

Last Tuesday at 10:26 a.m. Chief Dave Distrola went to Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center in response to a report of theft by a student. Items taken were welding gloves and a torch tip. Charges are being “withheld.”

At 1:15 p.m. Distrola unlocked a vehicle at Sheetz.

Last Wednesday at 8 a.m. Distrola responded to an alarm at the PC Federal Credit Union. It turned out that there had been a false activation.

At 11:30 a.m. Distrola went to 46 South Main Street where an overdose had been reported. The subject was said to have ingested several prescription medications in a suicide attempt. That person was transported to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, by ambulance.

At 9:30 p.m. Officer Jason Crants unlocked a motor vehicle at the former Arby’s parking lot.

Things seemed quiet Thanksgiving Day and Friday.

Saturday at 7 a.m. Crants looked into a report that a mailbox had been struck sometime the previous night. The victim was Rick Bosworth of 314 Catlin Avenue.

The next report was at 7:42 a.m.,, and concerned a fence at 64 Church Street; the victim was Gary Maxim.

At 9:20 a.m. there was another report, this time from David Fair of 317 Catlin Avenue. Someone had committed “criminal mischief to lawn” overnight.

At 10:50 a.m. there was similar report. This time the criminal mischief had affected the lawn of the Port Allegany Elementary School.

At 11:30 a.m. another report concerned criminal mischief to a lawn at 507/509 East Mill Street.

The last in a series of overnight lawn and other property damage reports came at 12:20 p.m.. This time the lawn damage victim was Kelly Flint of 62 Church Street.

Sunday at 2:37 a.m. Officer Adam Dickerson responded to a disturbance at Sheetz. Male and female subjects were arguing. Dickerson advised all parties to leave.

At 9:21 p.m. Officer Crants stopped a vehicle operated by Bobbi Dinch and issued a written warning concerning her non-functioning headlight.
