Community Pool in December?

You may be wondering why there is a picture of young ladies in the pool on Port Allegany Online days before Christmas.  Wonder no longer - these junior high girls were pictured hanging out in the Port Allegany Community Pool during the Youth Counselors Splash Party held in August of this year to remind people where some of their United Fund donations are used.  The Port Allegany Recreation Authority and the Port Allegany Youth Council are two of the organizations receiving money from United Fund.  Others include Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Roulette Blanket Ladies, Meals On Wheels, Port Allegany Family Center, PACS, American Red Cross, CARE for Children, Port Allegany Senior Center, S. W. Smith Library, Port Allegany Fire Department, McKean County 4-H, Victim's Resource Center and Reading is Fundamental.

The United Fund Board of Directors would like to thank all of the individuals and businesses that supported the fund drive in 2013.  The goal was to raise $25,000 and 95 percent of that goal was reached with $23,750 in pledges and receipts received.  Contributions can still be made to the United Fund of Port Allegany at the following address:  United Fund of Port Allegany, P.
