ARC Blood Drive in Port

The American Red Cross is encouraging all eligible donors to give something that means something this holiday season by making an appointment to donate blood. A special blood drive will be held on Wednesday, December 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Port Allegany Fire Hall at 65 West Maple Street.

The Red Cross is asking eligible blood donors of all blood types to donate blood during the winter months to strengthen the community’s blood supply. Give something that means something this holiday season by donating blood or platelets. When you donate blood you are giving a gift that can help save a life.

Local blood donors are needed all year round to ensure the blood supply stays strong. Approximately every two seconds a patient in the United States needs blood. That’s why your blood donation through the Red Cross is so important. Your blood donation can help save the life of a real person in our community. Blood is an essential component for patient care in area hospitals, and the only source of blood is a healthy, volunteer blood donor. All presenting donors at this blood drive will receive free pizza and will have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win a ham or turkey for their holiday dinner.* Walk-ins are always welcome, but donors are encouraged to make an appointment in advance by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visiting redcrossblood.org to make appointments.
