Orton A. Kinney, 91, of, Port Allegany, died Sunday
(November 3, 2013) at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Mar 9, 1922 in Port Allegany, a son of Fred and Esther Seyler Kinney, On Dec. 20, 1947 at St Bonaventure, Allegany. NY, he married Hester Marie Pittman, who died August 13, 2012.
Mr. Kinney was a graduate of Port Allegany High School Class of 1940 .
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1942 to 1945.
Mr. Kinney owned and operated a service station in Olean, NY before going into the dairy farming business. He owned and operated his own farm in Liberty Twp. for many years. Orton belonged to various farming organizations and over the years won many awards for his dairy herd. He was a member of St Gabriel's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Council # 8018, both of Port Allegany and the American Legion Post 258 of Port Allegany.
He is survived by
two daughters: Kris (Robert) Zoll of Mechanicsburg, PA, Mary Beth Kinney of Port Allegany, PA
four sons: Daniel (Sandra) Kinney, Fred Kinney, William (Debra) Kinney and Alan (JoElla) Kinney all of Port Allegany, PA. 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
three brothers: John Kinney of Green Castle, PA, Robert (Bernadine) Kinney of Port Allegany, PA, James (Beverly) Kinney of Warren , PA
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Belle Ball.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass at 11:00 am Wednesday Nov. 6, 2013 in St Gabriel's Catholic Church with the Rev. James Campbell, pastor as celebrant.
