Water trails task group to host town meeting

The Allegheny River water recreation committee of the Port Allegany Area Economic Development Corporation will host a town meeting in the large group instruction room of the Port Allegany Elementary School at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.

All area residents interested in water trails and other recreational pursuits and businesses related to the river are invited to attend and participate.

Guest speakers will be Linda Devlin, director of the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau, and Ta Brant of the Pennsylvania Wilds tourism and recreation development project.

The water trails feasibility and discussion event will take the place of the regular Economic Development organization’s regular October meeting, according to Susan Carlson, the group’s treasurer. It is open to the public.

The committee is distributing flyers. They are available at The Inn on Maple Street and at Burleson’s True Value.
