District Governor Visits - Rotary President Bob Hartle is pictured
with District Governor Patty Meehan and Rotarians Charlie Cox and Scott
Bayline who also serves as Assistant Governor. Mrs. Meehan visited the
local club at their regular weekly meeting held September 12.
Rotary Report - The Port Allegany Rotary Club met
Thursday, September 12 at the Moose Family Center. There were 22
Rotarians present for a reportable attendance of 85 percent.
It was noted that the road clean up originally scheduled for October 17 has been switched to November 7th.
Rotary President Bob Hartle introduced Patty Meehan who presented the program for the day.
Patty grew up in Mercer County graduating from Kennedy Catholic High School and Youngstown State University. She continued her studies at Duquesne University completing the Paralegal programs with honors.

She working in banking as a manager with what is now Huntington Bank and
then First Federal of WPA. She was asked to join the Mercer Rotary
Club in 1993 as its first female member. In 1996097 she was is first
female President. The bank transferred her to the Shenango Valley and
she moved to the Sharon Rotary Club. Patty served as President from
2002-2003 in Sharon. She has served on the District Finance Committee
for several years and served as Assistant Governor for four years. She
was District conference Chair in 2010.
Patty had the opportunity to serve as Mercer Victorian Days
Chair and the Mercer Chamber
President. She served on several
Mercer area boards.
She now devotes her time to Rotary and St. Michael Parish in
Greenville where she serves as Eucharistic Minister and lector.
She and her husband, Tom Mong, enjoy golfing and taking care
of the old farm house where they live in Greenville. They also enjoy spending
time with Tom's 2 adult sons, Staff Sgt Daneil Mong USMC and his family as well
as Tech Sgt Matt Mong, USAF and his wife, Sara , also as a Staff Sgt USAF.
Patty
talked about her project which is a day care center in Cosivo. She
also presented local Rotarian Charlie Cox with a Paul Harris +8 pin.
The lucky Rotarian of the day was Sue Barnett.
