E. Freeman, 96, of Port Allegany, died Monday (October 7, 2013) in the Lakeview
Senior Care & Living Center, Smethport.
She was born May 21, 1917 in Inez, a daughter of Benjamin and Esther Roberts Baker, On July 28, 1934 in Inez, PA, she married Melvin B. Freeman, who died May 2, 1980.
Mrs. Freeman was a graduate of Coudersport High School.
Mrs. Freeman worked for Sylvania in Emporium, PA and was a cook, employed by Canoe Place Inn for many years. She was well known for the sewing. She was a life member, charter member and past President of VFW Post #6391 Woman's Auxiliary and the last survivor of that charter class. She was a member of the American Legion Frank Burt Post #258.

One son: Larry Freeman of Port Allegany, PA
Grandchildren: Mike and Kristi Freeman, Brenda and Mike Sawyer, Terry and Vicki Freeman and Evonne and Keith VanGorder
Great Grandchildren: Calvin and Jared Freeman, Jessie and Bethany Friar, Jamie Friar, Cable and Emily Kellogg, Cole and Jackie VanGorder, Daniel Taylor and Kayla Freeman
Six great great grandchildren
Step Grandchildren: Randy and Dennis Pesock, Bruce Taylor and Robin Engl-Taylor
Several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband two son, Bruce Freeman and Bernard Freeman, one brother Russell Baker and one sister Bertha Fay.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8.in the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, 105 N Main St. Port Allegany, where funeral service will be held at 11:00am Thursday Oct 10, 2013 with the Rev. LaVerne Howard ,Pastor of the Sartwell Creek Union Church, officiating.

VFW Woman's Auxiliary will hold services at 7:30 PM Wednesday in the funeral home
