Lawrence
E. “Bud” Nelson, 90, of Two Mile Rd. passed away Sunday (Oct. 6, 2013) in the
Olean General Hospital.
Born
February 5, 1923, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Elof and Anna Johnson Nelson. On
June 2, 1949, in Port Allegany, he married Margaret “Elaine” Kublie, who died
Nov. 17, 2008.
Mr. Nelson was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, class of 1941.

Lawrence
was employed with Ball-Incon, Port Allegany, for 17 years, retiring in 1988. He
was also a longtime farmer who enjoyed raising livestock.
He
attended the Sartwell Creek Union Church, Burtville.
Surviving
are a sister-in-law, Eula M. Kublie of Port Allegany; a sister, Laura (Ray)
Johnson of Meadville, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret “Elaine”, and three
sisters, Edith Falk, Wynoma Johnson, Lillian Warden.
Friends
will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 9, 2013) in the SwitzerFuneral Home, Port Allegany,
where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. LaVerne Howard, pastor
of the Sartwell Creek Union Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean
Memorial Park, Lewis Run.

choice.
