Alonzo E. Abbey, PAHS Class of '54

Alonzo E. Abbey, 77, of Coleman Mills Rd., passed away Tuesday (Oct. 8, 2013) in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

Born February 17, 1936, in Liberty Township, PA, he was a son of Alf F. and Gladys L. McDowell Abbey.

Mr. Abbey was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, class of 1954.

Alonzo was a longtime self-employed farmer before his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces  and nephews. 

Surviving are a sister, Carol A. (Eugene) Frost of Port Allegany, nieces and nephews: Tina L. (Gerry) Reed of Emporium, Laurie A. (Steve) Nenno of Roulette, Brian S. and Bradley A. Frost both of Port Allegany; five great nieces and nephews: Nicole, Jason, Eric, Dustin, and Travis; and five great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother, Lawrence Dexter.     

There will be no visitation.  Private funeral and committal services will be held at the convenience of the family.
