Patricia
J. Fiem, 87, of the Rouse Estates, Youngsville, formerly of Port Allegany,
passed away Sunday (Sept. 1, 2013) in the John & Orphia Blair Hospice
House, Warren, PA, surrounded by her children.
Born July
29, 1926, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of John and Lillian Chapin
Babola. On July 11, 1949, in Port Allegany, she married Dominick “Bum” Fiem,
who died Apr. 23, 1999. They were married 49 years.
Patricia
was a resident of the Rouse Estates in Youngsville, for the past three years,
and lived with her daughter Karen, for five years prior.
Mrs. Fiem
was a longtime resident of the Port Allegany area and a graduate of the Port
Allegany High School, Class of 1945.
She was a
member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church while residing in Port Allegany, and a
member of St. Joseph’s parish while in Warren.
Patricia
lived and raised her family in Port Allegany, where she enjoyed being a
homemaker and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed gardening and cooking
and was known for her unforgettable “bread and butter” pickles and peach pie.
Surviving
are a son, Jon P. (Shelby) Fiem of Mt. Airy, MD; two daughters, Karen D. and
the late Michael Kolos of Warren, Paula A. (Larry) Ross of Avonmore, PA; three
grandchildren, Rob (Theresa) Ross of Avonmore, PA, Jon Ross and fiance Pamela
Rojas of Milwakee, WI, and Nicholas Fiem of Mt. Airy, MD; two step-grandchildren,
Candace (Greg) Ristagno and Chad Kolos; a great-granddaughter, Emily Marie
Ross; and three step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Theodore Babola of Ft.
Pierce, Fl; and a sister, Joyce Kelley of Port Allegany.
She was
preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Dominick.
Friends
will be received from 11 to noon Wednesday (Sept. 4, 2013) in St. Gabriel’s
Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon
with Rev. James Campbell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Gabriel’s
Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port
Allegany.
