NWS Issues Flood Advisory

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE PA HAS ISSUED A

* SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  MCKEAN COUNTY...

* UNTIL 600 AM EDT...

* AT 356 AM EDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN WAS FALLING DUE TO SLOW MOVING
THUNDERSTORMS. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES THAT UP TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN
THE LAST HOUR OVER WESTERN MCKEAN COUNTY. EXPECT FLOODING TO BEGIN SHORTLY.

* LOCATIONS THAT MAY EXPERIENCE MINOR FLOODING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO...
BRADFORD...KANE...WETMORE...LEWIS RUN AND PORT ALLEGANY.

THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN SHOULD MOVE TO THE EAST AND SOUTH OF THE AREA BY 430 AM
EDT. ONLY LIGHT RAIN IS EXPECTED FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT. THE HEAVY RAIN HAS PROBABLY
BEEN SUFFICIENT TO CREATE MINOR FLOODING ALONG SOME STREAMS AND CREEKS. AFTER THE RAIN
ENDS...EXPECT THE WATER TO RECEDE FAIRLY QUICKLY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS THAT ALTHOUGH STREAMS AND CREEKS MAY BE ELEVATED OR EVEN RISE
OUT OF THEIR BANKS...PROPERTY DAMAGE WILL BE MINIMAL.

INCONVENIENCES CAN BE EXPECTED BUT THE FLOODING WILL NOT BE IMMEDIATELY LIFE
THREATENING.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS.

BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION IF THE FLOODING THREAT INCREASES...OR A WARNING IS ISSUED.
