As final preparations are being made for the October launch of a new church in Port Allegany, Open Arms
Community Church is set to host a Father’s Day Celebration in the town square in Port Allegany this
Sunday at 10AM
Open Arms Connection Coordinator Josh Hatcher says that church members at the church in Bradford are really excited about this weekend, “It’s really our first big event in the Port Allegany Community. We’ve prayed about the opportunity to do this kind of thing for a long time, and now that things are lining up, we feel like it’s a great opportunity to be a light, to build relationships, and to establish a presence in Port Allegany.”
The Father’s Day Celebration will be a live church service in the Town Square at 10AM Sunday morning, and will conclude with free hot dogs for lunch. The event will feature live music from the Open Arms Worship Band, featuring Josh and Zoe Hatcher along with a full rock band.
Open Arms Port Allegany Site Pastor Chris Stavish will also be on hand to share an inspirational speech on fatherhood. Stavish is a Marine Corps vet who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and has moved to Port Allegany to get the new church plant started.
In case of rain, the event will be moved to Open Arms Community Church, in the former Free Methodist building at 105 Smith Street. The church encourages people attending the event in the square to bring lawn chairs.
Open Arms will hold several celebration services and outreaches in the months leading to their October launch.
