Pitt-Bradford Signs Transfer Agreement with Lackawanna college

Bradford, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford has signed a transfer agreement with Lackawanna College in Scranton to allow Lackawanna students to automatically enroll in Pitt-Bradford’s bachelor degree programs if they meet certain criteria.
Students must have completed their first two years or 60 credits at Lackawanna before transferring. Lackawanna courses have been paired with Pitt-Bradford courses that will automatically transfer without a separate review.

The agreement helps ease the transition from the private two-year college to a four-year degree from Pitt-Bradford.  “We are pleased to be working closely with Lackawanna College to create this new bridge making Pitt-Bradford a great option for bachelor degree bound students to strongly consider,” said Bob Dilks, Pitt-Bradford’s director of transfer and nontraditional student recruitment.

Lackawanna was founded as Scranton Business College in 1894 to train administrative and fiscal managers and their support personnel. Today it is accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and has satellite centers in New Milford, Hazleton, Hawley and Towanda.

Pitt-Bradford offers 36 bachelor and five associate degrees as well as 50 minors concentrations and pre-professional programs on a 317-acre campus.  Located in northwestern Pennsylvania three hours north of Pittsburgh, Pitt-Bradford is a regional college of the University of Pittsburgh.  Popular transfer programs include business management, criminal justice, psychology and communications, among others.

More than 94 percent of students receive financial aid and unique transfer scholarships are available for qualified students. Last year, The Princeton Review named it one of the 150 Best Value Colleges in the United States. For more information on transferring to Pitt-Bradford, contact Bob Dilks, director of transfer and non-traditional student recruitment, at (814)362-7693 or dilks@pitt.edu.
