Dana A. Bachman, 51, of E. Mill St. passed away Wednesday
(Mar. 27, 2013) in Hamot UPMC, Erie, PA.
Born August
13, 1961, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Albert C. and Lillian J. Childs
Bachman, Sr. On June 3, 1995, in Port Allegany, he married Deborah
A. McGarvey, who survives.
Mr. Bachman was employed at Saint-Gobain Container Co.
of Port Allegany, (now Verallia) as a line mechanic, for over 27 years, before
having to retire.
Dana was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate
of the Port Allegany High School, Class of 1979.
Mr. Bachman was a member and former fire chief of Star
Hose Fire Department, Port Allegany. He was a member of the GMP Union, Local
54, and volunteered as a baseball coach for several years. He was an avid
supporter of Port Allegany athletics.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Deborah, are two
sons, Kyle A. (Alisha) Bachman of Port Allegany, Cliff D. (Ashlee) Fillhart of
Smethport; two daughters, Lindsay E. (Clinton) Szuba and Caitlin D. Bachman
both of Port Allegany; 6 grandchildren: Lily, Willow, Brennan, Ayden, Breah,
and Ava; two nieces, Carla Smith and Eileen Donnelly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother,
Albert C. Bachman, Jr.
Friends
will be received from 7-9 p.m. Friday and Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, (Mar. 30,
2013) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will
be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Michael Culver, pastor of the First Baptist Church,
Port Allegany, officiating.
Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.

can be made to the Star Hose Fire Department, Port Allegany Sports Boosters, or
the American Kidney Foundation.
